/slice: trailer

/slice is an experimental film that delves into the entangled relationships between humans and machines, revealing how robots—designed as sophisticated tools—become vessels for our hopes, fears, and projections.

The film investigates how dance and embodied movement shape the very code, metadata, and digital archives we increasingly rely on. Set against the stark and evolving landscape of robotics research, /slice becomes a poetic meditation on what we risk losing—and what we might uncover—when we try to encode humanity into our machines.

/slice was co-created by dance-technology artists Jessica Rajko and Varsha Iyengar who composed and performed the film alongside robotics researchers from Brown University's Humans to Robots Laboratory. The film experiments with practice-based methods for weaving transdisciplinary knowledge through collective artmaking and performance.
